Velvet Lounge opened in 2011 as Orange County's newest gay restaurant and nightclub. After a successful first year, we are ready to add a few talented members to our team.

TECHNICAL MANAGER
Reporting to General Manager and working closely with owners to oversee all technical aspects of nightclub, shows, and special events; including audio, video and lighting needs. This self-motivated person will be responsible for operation, maintenance, and integration of existing and future equipment, as well as acquiring and maintaining supplies, and managing additional staff as needed. A visually creative eye and experience running live show and club lighting is required. Understanding of audio, power and video concepts will be expected. Should have experience with

• DMX512 Standard
• Martin Light Jockey Software
• Intelligent and Conventional Lighting Equipment (Pars, moving heads, scanners, etc.)
• Live Audio (mics, consoles, DSPs, DJ mixers and playback)
• Video switching and routing
• Cable management (running wire, safety & etc.)
• Disassembling and reassembling technical equipment
• Fix things without breaking them

HOURS:  Up to 20-35 hours per week, based on availability. Must be available late nights and weekends

DOOR HOST/CASHIER
Responsible for greeting guests as the arrive for nightclub and special events. Will collect cover charge, make change and log everything. Will maintain guest list, identify VIPs and work closely with Security staff. This is a customer service position, and you customer service and communication skills are critical to your success. Must be friendly and welcoming, but assertive and strict.

HOURS:  Must be available late nights. Most shifts begin around 9pm

BARTENDER
Make and sell cocktails to guests. Must be personable, fun, energetic, outgoing and work well in a loud fast-paced atmosphere. Should be highly motivated to provide the highest level of service! Customer service is our top priority! OPEN AVAILABILITY, Should be available to work dinner shifts, and eventually club nights, have reliable transportation and take pride in your appearance.

HOURS:  Must be available late nights. Most shifts begin around 9pm

COCKTAIL SERVERS
Sell and serve cocktails shots and light food to nightclub and show lounge guests. Must be personable, fun, energetic, outgoing and work well in a loud fast-paced party atmosphere. OPEN AVAILABILITY, Should be available to work 2-4 night shifts per week, have reliable transportation and take pride in your appearance.

SECURITY GUARDS
Guards are responsible for the safety and security of customers and staff. Patrols the nightclub and adjacent areas to preserve order among patrons and protect the property. Guards are also responsible for verifying patrons ID before entry, and swiftly moving guests to their cars at the end of the night as peacefully as possible. May mingle with customers to prevent and detect improper activities and defuse altercations before they become uncontrollable. Guards must tactfully evict patrons from the premises if they are behaving in a disorderly way. Guards will assist with operation of events, including moving tables and chairs, clearing and bussing empty or abandoned drinks, calling taxis, and removing litter from the adjacent sidewalk and parking facilities.  Also confers nightly with the Security Manager, General Manager or the owners, reporting any incidents or accidents that may have occurred in or near the facility.

REQUIREMENTS:  Must be licensed in California with a "Guard Card".
